What would you do if you had more time?

The reason many entrepreneurs start their own business is to have more freedom. However, many end up working as many hours, if not more, as when they were an employee. If you don’t have other obligations, need to look after kids or have a time-intensive hobby, chances are that you spend your “free” hours working. There’s always more to be done. The question is:

How can you embrace your freedom and make use of it?

I believe knowing clearly what matters to you outside of work and then carefully designing your schedule and habits accordingly are key.

What would you do if you had more time? I noticed that that’s the wrong question for me to ask because more time does not equal more energy. If I have more time but am low energy, I procrastinate instead of creating something useful and meaningful. So the right question to ask is:

How can I keep my energy high?

And then, when I have energy, what would I do with that time and energy?

If I had more time and energy, I’d:

  • Move more, eg dancing, walking in the forrest, hiking, skiing

  • Cook more nourishing meals, instead of grabbing take-out

  • Read and write more, to learn and share my experiences

  • Spend time with friends and plan fun adventures

What would you do if you had more time and energy?
